Editorial and Publication Policies

The Cybersecurity Law and Policy Review upholds the highest standards of scholarly integrity, transparency, and ethical publishing. The following policies govern all aspects of the journal's editorial and publication process.

1. Peer Review Policy

All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process. Authors' identities are concealed from reviewers, and reviewers' identities are concealed from authors throughout the review cycle. Each submission is evaluated by a minimum of two independent expert reviewers. The editorial team makes final acceptance decisions based on reviewer recommendations, scientific merit, originality, and relevance to the journal's scope.

Review outcomes may include: Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject. Authors are expected to respond to reviewer comments within 30 days of receiving a revision request.

2. Ethics and Publication Integrity

CLPR adheres to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines. Authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to comply with the following ethical standards:

●      Submitted manuscripts must represent original work not previously published or under simultaneous review elsewhere.

●      All authors listed must have made a substantive intellectual contribution to the work.

●      Any potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed at the time of submission.

●      Fabrication, falsification, or plagiarism of data or arguments constitutes grounds for immediate rejection and may be reported to the author's institution.

●      Plagiarism screening is conducted on all submissions using recognised detection tools.

3. Open Access and Licensing

CLPR is a fully open-access journal. Published articles are made freely available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence. This permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited. Authors retain full copyright.

4. Article Processing Charges (APCs)

CLPR currently does not charge authors article processing fees. The journal is supported through institutional partnerships and its publishing platform. This policy will be reviewed periodically and authors will be notified of any changes in advance.

5. Corrections and Retractions

If significant errors are identified in a published article, the editorial team will issue a correction notice linked to the original article. In cases of serious ethical violations — including data fabrication, plagiarism, or duplicate publication — the article may be retracted in line with COPE retraction guidelines. Retraction notices will be publicly accessible.

6. Editorial Independence

The editorial team operates independently of the journal's publishing platform and any commercial or institutional pressures. All editorial decisions are made solely on the basis of scholarly merit and compliance with journal policies. Editors who have conflicts of interest with submitted manuscripts recuse themselves from those decisions.

7. Data Availability and Reproducibility

Authors are encouraged to make underlying data, datasets, and supplementary materials publicly available where legally and ethically permissible. Data sharing promotes reproducibility and enhances the scientific value of published work. Authors should declare data availability in the manuscript.

8. Privacy and Confidentiality

Information shared with the journal during submission and peer review is treated as confidential. Reviewers must not share manuscript content or use it for personal advantage prior to publication. All personal data submitted to the journal is handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
